Bemidji Curling Club
Board of Directors Monthly Meeting
March 16, 2010
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:09 by President Chase Jackson.
Present: Chase Jackson, Aaron Stodgell, Evonne McKinzie, Jay Seitz, John Faulkner, Pete Fenson, Quentin Way. Also in attendance: Terry Matson and Harry Vollen form Junior National’s Committee
Absent: Doug Underthun, Aaron Tasa
Report:
Minutes from February meeting were approved. Terry Matson gave a financial report for the Junior National’s tournament. As determined by prior agreement, proceeds to the Club were to be the first $5000 plus 50% of net over and above. Terry presented a check to the Club for $14,112.93. Terry also reported $1,962.85 revenue for the Junior Program from the fish fry.
Financial Report:
Aaron reported there are approximately $4,000 still due from ice ads, party rentals and bonspiel rentals.
Old Business:
• Quentin reported that the compressor that had been making noise is apparently okay.
• Ron Gervais court action: Jerry Pickett went to court; decision has not yet been rendered.
• Year-end party will be Saturday, April 3 and the meal price is set at $8, beer $1.
• Election: we only have one signature on the sign-up sheet for the board.
• Insulation for walls: Quentin got an estimate of approximately $20,000 for insulation from floor to ceiling, with the club responsible for removing the sheathing for the installation.
New Business:
• Quentin got estimate for $695 to buy a pump to address concerns with de-ionizing tank because water used to wash and pebble ice is cloudy.
• Stair treads are in poor shape from wear and tear caused by beer delivery.
• Quentin received an estimate of $624.25 to re-key the club, in response to the large number of keys in “circulation”. Proposal is to give keys only to board members and select individuals and use the card key system for members who want access to practice.
• Discussion of the pop “guns” at the bar and problem with one of the lines getting heated by exhaust for ice machine. Leaking from the guns has been a chronic problem. Pete Fenson will call the people at Coca Cola.
Meeting adjourned at 7:24.
Next meeting will be Tuesday, April 13th at 6:00 p.m.
