Fenson, Jaster named USA Curling's top coaches

2006 Olympic coach Bob Fenson (Bemidji, Minn.) and longtime youth coach Mary Jaster (Grafton, N.D.) have been named USA Curling's 2006 Coach of the Year and 2006 Developmental Coach of the year respectively. Fenson helped the Pete Fenson rink to USA Curling's first Olympic medal when the team won bronze at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy, in February. The team followed that up with a strong fourth-place finish at the 2006 World Curling Championships in April after winning the U.S. men's title for the third time in four years. Jaster has led the Grafton Curling Club's after-school curling program for more than 10 years and has been instrumental at the club's clinics teaching youth and adults to curl. In addition, she coached a developmental junior team at the recent U-18 Optimist International Championship in Calgary.
